Egypt Adds Thousands of Drugs and Services to Universal Insurance Plan

 On 8 January,  Egypt's universal health insurance authority (UHIA) announced a vast expansion of its medical coverage by adding 59 new medications and 29 healthcare services. This expansion was headed by the health economics unit to ensure the long term sustainability of the system while providing high quality medical care to the Egyptian citizens.


The report also emphasiezed the importance of investing in people. So the Authority decided to support its staff professional development by enrolling six employees in professional master's programs in health economics at cairo university, sending eight employees for advanced training programs and it conducted workshops on bio-economics in partnership with the American university. 

This move will be beneficial to the people and the country.
