Egypt condemns deadly mosque attack in Pakistan

Egypt expresses strong condemnation of a terrorist attac2k on a mosque in Pakistan capital: Isamabad that caused numerous fatalities and injuries.

This terrorist movement was arranged by the Islamic State (ISIS) so struck a Shiite mosque during friday prayer last week.  This attack killed at least 31 people and injured more than 169 others. This makes it the deadliest attack in nearly 20 years.

Authorities said that four individuals were detained on suspicion of facilitating the attack and they promised to track down those responsible and brought to justice.

What about the Shiite individuals in Egypt? Are they safe?

Shia Muslims are a small and unrecognized minority. Official institutions like Al-Azhar warn against the spread of Shia Islam and framed it as a potential source of division. However, there are some efforts at religious dialogue which suggests some official attempts at co-existence.

Shiaa Muslims cant publicly celebrate key religious rituals like Ashura or build recognized community institutions freely. As public observance can draw attention.

Many Shia People live quietly without open conflict. So, they are generally safe. You can check plenty of Shiite mosques in Al-Moezz Street like Al Hakim Mosque, Al Aqmar mosque and more. Do you know that Al Azhar was built to spread the Shiite sector in Egypt during the fatimid period?

We recommend that you visit Khan el Khalili  as part of the visit and Mosque of Imam Hussein. This will guarantee you an enriching experience! Check our Cairo and Alexandria Tour During Easter and 4 Days Cairo Short Break During Easter and more in our easter tours!\
