Egyptian red crescent delivers food and medical aid to Gaza

 On 11 January, the Egyptian red crescent launched its 113th humanitarian convoy to deliever food, medicine and more assistance to help the civilians survive the winter in Gaza Strip.


The  truck carried more than 5,300 tons of humanitarian aid including over 2950 tons of food baskets and flour and over 1,010 tons of medicines, medical supplies, relief items and more.

The convoy is named Zad Al Ezza. This project was launced by the Egyptian red crescent on july 27, 2025 and has delievered thousands of tons of assistance including food supplies, flour, infant formula and medical equipments and aid.

The relationship between both parts has been strong for many years. They share deep historical, cultural and georaphic ties that go back centuries including shared history during ottoman rule and regional conflicts. 

Also Egypt fought wars alongside arab against israel and positioned itself as the supporter of the palestinian cause. 

In 2007, Egypt has acted as a mediator in conflicts between israel and hamas to help in the negotiation of ceasefire and prisoner exchanges during major wars.
